“Christian Baggage” is a term I use to describe some of the very flawed ideas which we have brought from traditional Christian teachings into the 21st century. They are baggage because they are not really what Jesus taught, but yet have been force-fed to us as being central to Christian teaching. The real problem occurs though when this baggage obscures our clear view of Jesus’ love, so that many see the bad fruit produced from these ideas and fall away from the faith or conclude that Jesus was not really the Son of God but rather just a good moral teacher
I was almost one of them. I did lose my faith for many years, but eventually found sound answers to the problems that I saw with Christianity. Once this “baggage” was removed, I was able to see the overwhelming beauty of Jesus, and I want to empower you to see it too!
